Brotherhood
One of the defining and most important values of Kappa Pi is brotherhood and that bonds that we form as brothers in Kappa Pi. We maintain strong brotherhood in the house through numerous events and activities that bring us together as a chapter. Some brotherhood events include movie nights, road trips, sports, and of course, brotherhood retreats. Brotherhood retreats--camping, boating, snow boarding--are important times for our chapter to escape together, bond, have fun, and work together on how to improve the chapter. But really, anytime is a time for brotherhood at Kappa Pi, and that is what keeps us strong.

Philanthropy
Kappa Pi's dedication to community service is a point of pride for Kappa Pi. We host several major philanthropic events throughout the year raising thousands of dollars for organizations like the American Cancer Society and St. Judes. Our "Day for the Kids" event has won two Cal Poly Greek awards and our "Ducky Derby" earned us Outstanding Philanthropy in 2009. In addition, we host a Haunted House during Halloween, volunteer each year at the Wildflower Triathalon, and participate in other Greek-sponsored philanthropy events.

Leadership
Kappa Pi provides leadership education through the LEAD (Leadership Ethics Achievement Development) Program.  The LEAD Program is a four-year leadership development curriculum that starts from the first day you become a member and continues through to your graduation. LEAD teaches you skills applicable to your college experience and helps prepare you for life after college. Educational sessions assist our membership in both gaining the knowledge and developing the skills and abilities needed to be an effective and ethical leader for life. Session topics include Goal Setting, Time Management, Decision Making, and Interviewing Skills. We believe that the LEAD program has great potential to improve both our chapter and its individual members.

Academics
Kappa Pi realizes that the number one reason we are at Cal Poly is to advance our education. Knowing this, Kappa Pi makes scholarship and studying a priority. As a brotherhood, we help each other with classes and make sure that we keep our grades up. In Kappa Pi, there is a madatory grade point average that must be met by each active to be initiated and to participate in fraternity activies, further emphasizing the importance of education in Kappa Pi. Library study hours are organized and a support system is in place for any active that needs help. Kappa Pi prides itself in being one of the fraternities on campus with the highest overall G.P.A.

Social
Being social at Kappa Pi is about having fun with your brothers at all times by hosting exchanges with sororities, having date parties, tailgates for football games or just hanging out at the house with your best friends. The main purpose is to allow us to all have the best college experience we can.  We will be having numerous exchanges with great sororities in the fall, as we do every quarter, a tailgate for every football game and for major soccer games this fall (some of those will be with sororities), and a date party probably on the beach again.  Also, we will have many fun themed parties throughout the quarter and our Cal Poly famous slip-n-slide on our front lawn.  Our goal as a chapter is to be the most balanced fraternity and to do that we must have a strong social calendar so that we can make the most of our four years in college.

Athletics
Athletics in Kappa Pi consists of correlating with the IFC board to participate in events ranging from soccer games to dodge-ball tournaments. The main purpose of the position is to organize a team to compete with other fraternities on campus. Kappa Pi placed second in Greek Week soccer. Athletics brings brotherhood to this chapter and we plan to keep building on that brotherhood and compete at a top level with the other fraternities.
